Login Required After Viewing A Word Document

If you are opening a word document in D2L and you are asked to login then you are experiencing a common problem. This happens because of an issue with Microsoft Word. Here is a solution to fix this problem:

1. Open a folder or My Computer.

2. Select Folder Options in the Tools menu.

2. Select the File Types tab, then find the DOC extension. Select Advanced.

3. Uncheck the browse in same window box then click OK. Click OK again to close out of the Folder Options dialogue box.

4. Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE. If you see the following screen then click Task Manager, otherwise skip below to step 5.

5. Click the Processes tab. Select WINWORD.EXE then click End Process.

5. Select Yes
